PIE GRANTS

Partners in Education (PIE) Grants

Partners in Education (PIE) promotes innovation in the classroom through teacher, grade-level and academic department grants. Every year teachers from all school sites submit grant proposals designed to inspire and motivate their students and advance the use of cutting edge curriculum.

PIE Grants provide a financial resource to teachers for innovative academic and enrichment programs like science nights, field trips, musical productions and much more. In addition these grants can also go directly into the classroom, providing students with hands-on access to the latest developments in math and science, language arts, physical education and social sciences.

Congratulations to the following schools and teachers for their successful PIE grant applications.

The Ruby Mobile

The 2016-17 Cooley Middle School Advanced Bicycle Technology class built the pedal-powered "Ruby Mobile" to help school janitor Ruby.  Students learned about the design process, engineering concepts, metal fabrication, and, of course, bicycle maintenance and repair. Financial support for this project was provided by a PIE Grant.
